Monty Family Bios

The Monty family are not an ancient legacy with their name scattered through Sim Nation’s history. Patrizio and Isabella Monty made their fortune themselves from llama ranching, their restaurant, and other activities on the side that you can’t tie them to through anything but circumstantial evidence. For the Montys family comes first, hence everyone takes the feud so seriously and moved back into the ranch to protect each other. On the one hand this means no Monty ever has to stand alone, and they always have someone to help them. On the other hand, this means the pressure to put the family’s wellbeing and pride before your own interests in immense. Eventually they’ll have to choose between those two conflicting features of being a close family.
 

 

Patrizio Monty

Personality: Sagittarius, 8/5/4/4/4, Cuisine Hobby

Aspiration/Secondary: Family/Grilled Cheese

LTW: Graduate 3 Children From College (I’m saying this was accomplished)

Degree: Economics

This isn’t a feud, it’s payment in kind for a betrayal. Patrizio was all set to be Consort’s partner in business AND crime when the son of a llama turned on him for getting a little too close to Contessa and fired him. That was when Patrizio saw him for what he was, a no-good gold digger who would have sold his own mother to get in with the Capps. Consort clearly never planned to make their fortune together, he only wanted to marry into it. From then on Patrizio threw himself into making his fortune out of pure spite, and he’s very aware of the irony that he owes his motivation and money to Consort’s betrayal. Since retiring Patrizio has divided his attention between his beloved children and grandchildren, staring at The Veronaville Wall and cursing Consort under his breath, and his less than legal activities. He’s yet to find a Monty to pass on that particular business aspect to, but Romeo looks like a fine candidate…

 

Isabella Monty

Personality: Aries, 4/6/5/5/5, Cuisine Hobby

Aspiration/Secondary: Family/Grilled Cheese

LTW: Have six grandchildren

Degree: Art

Isabella met Patrizio, Consort, and Contessa in college and was more of a witness to the feud’s origins than a participant. However she did take Patrizio’s side and without her work he wouldn’t have the fortune he has today. She’s glad nobody but Consort and Patrizio can remember how the feud started. Nobody wants their family to know their partner ‘settled’ for them. Patrizio may claim to be the patriarch, but Isabella is the person who keeps the Monty clan running. She’s continuing to mentor Antonio, Bianca, and (recently) Mercutio to take over the llama ranching and culinary dynasty she and Patrizio have built for them. When it comes time to choose between duty to family and her children’s happiness, Isabella will always pick their happiness. She just believes that they’re all as happy with the family business as she is.

 

Antonio Monty

Personality: Cancer, 6/4/7/3/5, Science Hobby

Aspiration/Secondary: Knowledge/Fortune

LTW: Become Media Magnate

Degree: Literature

Antonio was one of the nicest Montys and didn’t take the feud all that seriously. Then his brother and his wife were killed. Since then he’s moved his twins back into the Monty compound to protect them and set himself on a mission to destroy the Capps. Twice as dedicated to the Monty name and business as he ever was before, Antonio is trying to get Patrizio to accept him as a successor to the criminal empire. So maybe he’s not all that suited to the business… but he is good with tactics! He doesn’t mind doing work that makes him uncomfortable to keep his children, one remaining sibling, and nephews safe. Until Patrizio stops keeping him at a distance from the family ‘business’ Antonio is focused on the legitimate family business. 

 

Bianca Monty

Personality: Cancer, 4/5/6/4/6, Arts and Crafts Hobby

Aspiration/Secondary: Family/Pleasure

LTW: Become Celebrity Chef

Degree: Art

Bianca thinks this entire feud is stupid, and she’s equally furious with both sides for letting it get to the point that she lost a brother and two sister-in-laws. Almost as bad as this, the feud has become so dangerous that she’s had to move back into the Monty prison ranch for her own safety. But she’s determined not to let it ruin her lives or her nephews’ either. She knows if her family could stop focusing on this feud and look further afield they could be famous for their food, and one day she wants to get out of this town and get the fame she deserves for being trained as a chef since she was a young child. To Bianca, family is only everything in the sense that having a happy, honest, open home environment is everything. Her hobbies, apart from sewing, include dining out and reality tv.
 

Benedick Monty

Personality: Sagittarius, 2/3/8/6/6, Nature Hobby

Shy but full of energy, Benedick is glad to be living with his family so he has more people he’s not afraid to talk to. Ever since his mother’s death he’s been unable to talk around strangers, Benvolio does that for him. He spends a lot of time in the big garden helping Mercutio, who’s doing his best to give him some confidence. He’s joined at the hip with Benvolio and they get away with swapping identities more often than non-identical twins have any right to. Whilst Benvolio has constant physical energy and seems to always be on the go, Benedick has constant mental energy and needs a lot of stimuli around to keep from getting bored. The two put together often gets the twins into mischief.

 

Benvolio Monty

Personality: Pisces (wtf maxis), 3/4/7/3/8, Arts and Crafts

Benvolio is relieved his family has been accepting. Even if nonno and nonna don't exactly Get It and Cousin Romeo accidentally called him by his dead name a few times the first week after he was told. His grandparents still tell him they love him and he learned some sweet new curse words every time Romeo caught himself in the middle of a screw-up. Like his brother he's too young to take much notice of the feud or form much of an opinion, and he's been more concerned with coming out to his family than outside drama recently anyway. Benvolio's hobbies include sports, drawing (which he's very good at), begrudgingly being his brother's chess partner, and begging Antonio to buy him pottery materials.

 

Romeo Monty

Personality: Aries, 3/6/5/5/6, Arts and Crafts

Aspiration: Romance

LTW: Become Rock God

Life is tough for a teenager in a small town with so few people around! Romeo was just looking for a little fun before life got all serious, like it did for Mercutio who won’t stop talking about college. Instead of fun he’s accidentally found big trouble! He wasn’t serious about Juliette, but when you flirt with the granddaughter of your grandfather’s mortal enemy there’s no other way to be than serious.

 

Mercutio Monty

Personality: Sagittarius, 3/7/3/7/5, Nature Hobby

Aspiration: Popularity

LTW: Own 5 Top Level Businesses

Mercutio is the one who keeps his family smiling and happy, and he’s taking on the responsibility of keeping them from splitting over the feud / Romeo’s relationship with Juliette. But this dedication to his family comes at the price of giving up almost all his own personal desires and wants. If it will upset the clan even slightly, Mercutio won’t let himself have it. Even when gardening, he only grows ingredients for the restaurant. Hence things are a little… tense between him and Romeo where once they were partners in crime. It’s frustrating to see Romeo throw himself at Juliette with no regard for how the family will react. Especially since Mercutio has been suppressing feelings for a Capp since watcher knows when and convincing not only his family but himself that it’s just really passionate hatred. Yep, passionate hatred. Not at all over-compensation combined with a fixation and fueled by repressed resentment for the feud.
